Reunited Onscreen: Bela Padilla and JC Santos in 'Wish You Were The One' – A Romantic Comedy from Viva Films

The blockbuster loveteam of Bela Padilla and JC Santos is back in the big screen! Their fifth film together is titled "Wish You Were The One," and their fans are incredibly excited. On June 22, Santos shared some behind-the-scenes pictures with Padilla on his Instagram, sparking a flood of delightful comments like, "I'm ready to be hurt again," "When these two team up, I'm sure I'll cry again," "Tissues are ready, just in case," "We've watched all their movies. We shouldn't skip this one," and many more! The films they've worked on together include "100 Tula Para Kay Stella" (2017), "The Day After Valentine's" (2018), "On Vodka, Beers, and Regrets" (2020), and "366" (2022).

Bela Padilla plays Astrud, a senior advisor at a curtain store. Coming from a humble background, she has learned to be resourceful, practical, and always has dreams within reach. Now, she aims to rekindle her relationship with her former boyfriend, Jordan (Kean Cipriano).

JC Santos portrays Ellis, a landscaper. He's quiet and not particularly cool, but despite that, he has a beautiful and popular girlfriend, Zoe (Franki Russel).

Astrud and Ellis cross paths when they both need partners for a wedding. Ellis and Zoe are invited to their friend's wedding, but they've already broken up. Ellis hesitates to attend, knowing that their friends are trying to get him and Zoe back together. He lies that he's getting married too, and this is where Astrud comes in.

Ellis becomes Astrud's way to enter the wedding, where Jordan works as a chef. In their pretense, Astrud and Ellis realize that they are destined to meet. They also feel a strong chemistry between them.

It's not impossible for Astrud and Ellis to fall in love with each other. Now that they understand the real reasons why their past relationships didn't last, will they take a chance on their feelings for one another?

"Wish You Were The One" is written by Enrico Santos and directed by Derick Cabrido, marking his first romantic movie. Cabrido is known for projects like "Clarita," "U-Turn," and "Deadly Love."
