Seduction Unveiled: 'Call Me Alma' Heats Up Vivamax on September 1, 2023

As the Ber months kick in, Azi Acosta transforms into a fiercely independent woman who will halt at nothing to claim what's rightfully hers. Prepare for a fresh Vivamax Original Movie, penned by the renowned Ricky Lee and brought to life under the skillful direction of McArthur C. Alejandre. Mark your calendars to stream the alluring "Call Me Alma" on Vivamax this coming September 1, 2023 with advance screening on Vivamax Plus starting August 23, 2023.

Step back in time to the year 1999, a period marked by global apprehension over the impending new millennium and the Y2K scare. In the midst of this collective uncertainty, a resolute young woman in Manila persists in her unwavering pursuit of dreams, undeterred by the chaos that surrounds her.

Enter Alma (Azi Acosta), a tenacious figure working within the opulent realm of an exclusive club. Orphaned and devoid of familial support, Alma forges her path through life, dedicating herself to the establishment she's called her workplace for an extensive span. Over time, her clientele has expanded to encompass numerous men, yet three particular patrons hold a distinct place in her heart—affectionately christened Tiger Joe, Kabayo, and Puppy Dog. Behind these monikers lie Mr. Lopez (Mon Confiado), a wealthy attorney with a penchant for sadistic intimacy; Mr. JC (Josef Elizalde), a well-endowed banking executive; and Miguel (Gold Aceron), a besotted student who finds emotional solace with Alma, unburdened by financial exchanges.

Bolstered by her earnings from these encounters, Alma revels in a life of comfort and self-assuredness. However, her equilibrium teeters when a middle-aged woman named Sheila (Jaclyn Jose) emerges from the shadows, claiming a maternal connection. With a tumultuous past guiding her decisions, Sheila seeks reconciliation, but Alma's defenses remain steadfast, echoing her former stance: if maternal guidance was inconsequential then, why should it matter now?

Will Alma uncover the strength to forgive and embrace Sheila's overtures? What prompts Sheila's unexpected return, and can her presence mend Alma's lingering wounds? As the narrative unfurls, the central question lingers: can Alma escape the clutches of her present occupation and Tiger Joe, Kabayo, and Puppy Dog, or is her destiny forever interwoven with the club's neon-lit corridors? Through the interplay of these characters' complex emotions, "Call Me Alma" offers a compelling exploration of forgiveness, redemption, and the pursuit of liberation from a past marred by both external turmoil and internal struggles.

A film by McArthur C. Alejandre and written by a multi-awarded and renowned Filipino screenwriter, National Artist Ricky Lee, Call Me Alma stars Vivamax’s Azi Acosta, Josef Elizalde, Gold Aceron, Aiko Garcia, and Richard Solano, together with FAMAS and Star Awards for Movies nominated actor Mon Confiado, and Cannes Film Festival best actress, Ms. Jaclyn Jose. Call Me Alma premiered last August 10 at the Cinemalaya Film Festival, making it the first Vivamax Original to premiere in a Filipino film festival.
