Viva Communications Inc., the biggest entertainment company in the Philippines, today announced the launch of Viva Movie Box, a new streaming platform designed to cater to the mobile-centric viewing habits of contemporary audiences. The launch is timed to coincide with the company’s 44th Anniversary, marking its continued adaptation to evolving media consumption patterns.
VMB Viva Movie Box is a vertical video platform featuring serialized content with episodes running for approximately one to two minutes each. This format, known as "micro-drama," delivers quick, engaging bursts of entertainment intended for instant, on-the-go consumption, aligning with the preferences of the younger, digitally native audience weaned on social media.
The content lineup for the platform will span several genres, including romance, family dramas, stylized (campy) narratives, and adult-drama films. The programming utilizes a strong, serialized soap opera structure, condensed and adapted to maintain a high level of intensity and plot progression suitable for the short-form mobile environment.
Access to the complete library of titles and episodes is offered through a subscription model priced at ₱59 per week.
The initial roster of local original titles includes Aking Ka Lang, Elisa: Batang Kabit, Maid for Revenge, Love Forbids, Inagaw na Anak, A Mistress’ Guide to Moving On, and She’s Not My Sister for 2026. Stars include Ryza Cenon, Mon Confiado Rhen Escano, Nathalie Hart, Albie Casiño, Rose Van Ginkel, Denise Esteban, Meg Imperial, and Louise delos Reyes, among others, and supported by several veteran actors and actresses.
Also included are well-loved Asian micro-dramas, which have become hits with their consistent cliffhangers.
