Unveiling 'P 77': A Star-Studded Psychological Thriller About the Horrors of Homelessness

Starring: Kapuso actress Barbie Forteza, Kapamilya actor JC Alcantara, and today's child prodigy Euwenn Mikaell, who has won four Best Child Performer awards for his role in Firefly at MMFF 2023, MIFF 2023, the 40th Star Awards for Movies, and the 72nd FAMAS Awards. The film also features seasoned performers Gina Pareño, Rosanna Roces, Jackie Lou Blanco, and Carlos Siguion-Reyna.

“P 77” is a psychological thriller that delves into the terrifying reality of homelessness in a city where skyscrapers tower over shanties.

The Story: A cruise ship chambermaid quits her job to care for her ailing brother, only to discover that their mother is missing and her brother's condition is worsening. Desperate, the siblings sneak into an empty condo unit, but soon realize that Penthouse 77 holds dark secrets of its own...

Production: The story is crafted by Anj Atienza (winner of the MMFF 2023 Best Screenplay), Kristian Julao, and Cenón Obispo Palomares, with a screenplay by Enrico C. Santos. Cinematography is by Mycko David, and the production design is handled by Ericson Navarro. Nick Aragdon serves as the assistant director. The film is produced by Nessa Valdellon, with Anj Atienza and Kristian Julao as creative producers, line production by Lexter Favor Tarriela, supervising production by Omar Sortijas, and executive production by Annette Gozon Valdes and Felipe L. Gozon.

Director: Roderick “Derick” Cabrido, known for his success in the horror-thriller genre, directs this film. Cabrido's notable works include Purgatoryo (2016), Clarita (2019), U-Turn (2020), and the MMFF 2023 thriller Mallari. He is currently working on Untold, starring Jodi Sta. Maria, another horror project under Regal Entertainment. Cabrido's other significant films include his directorial debut Children’s Show (Cinemalaya 2014), Tuos (Cinemalaya 2016), which starred Barbie alongside National Artist Nora Aunor, and Wish You Were The One (2023).

Barbie Forteza continues to receive excellent projects from her home network, GMA, across both film and television. In , she is set to demonstrate her versatility once again, having proven herself in drama, comedy, romance, thriller, and historical genres.
